Ephesians 5:15-21

"The Sacrifice of Praise"

Intro:

Prop: We embody wisdom by pursuing God's direction and 
yielding to the Holy Spirit.

I.  We embody wisdom by pursuing God's direction (v. 15-17).

	A.  Make the most of opportunities.

		1.  Consistently make good choices in little decisions.
		2.  Naturally make wise choices in big decisions.

	B.  Understand His will.

		1.  Discern the nature of our times.
		2.  God has a plan for our lives.

II.  We embody wisdom by yielding to the Holy Spirit (v. 18-21).
	How?

	A.  Be under His control (v. 18). 

		1.  Avoid artificial "highs" that do not satisfy.
		2.  Open yourself to the joy that God can bring.

	B.  Tune in to Heaven's music (v. 19).

		1.  Encourage one another with public music.
		2.  Encourage yourself with private melodies.

	C.  Turn on a thankful spirit (v. 20).

		1.  Be thankful at all times for all things.
		2.  Be thankful to God in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

	D.  Learn to let go (v. 21). (big hinge verse)

		1.  Respect others and learn to serve.
		2.  Christ is the model for all our relationships.
